Trash to Treasure: Creating Crafts

Rise and Shine Nepal, an organization supported by DDHCFN, specializes in providing trainings for women which combine sustainable practices and profitable products. Through the most recent training in the Lalitpur region of Nepal, attendees learned how to create crafts, bags and cards (from recycled paper) as a way to generate supplemental income while raising awareness for environmental education.

Selling trinkets and craft items can be a valuable opportunity for many Nepali people who may not be able to earn a fair living through their normal jobs. Through Rise and Shine, these individuals have a chance to support their families financially, while also learning valuable skills they can pass on to others.
